What it is
A film student is working on her final project. A new acting student wanders into her footage by accident and becomes both the lead and the only person in it. He is older, but he started university later, so she is actually his senior.
Form
The whole novel is treated as the final cut of that film. The film is like a documentary of everyday life, not scripted. Now and then there are attempts to use a script that doesn’t fit, and those get recorded too. Parts the characters once wanted cut are kept as they are.
The story is set in Japan and written as ordinary light novel narration. The ending deliberately breaks the fourth wall.
The way it tells its story is inspired by Goodbye, Eri: telling a story through camera footage, playing with the edge of reality, and recording someone before they are gone. The ending is deliberately free of a big twist.
